The Missing Ingredient For Transformation

Have you noticed a lot of us have turned into personal development junkies - binging books, podcasts, and workshops, all with promises of life-changing results?

And so many are still in the same place they were after ingesting all of these resources.

Why?

It’s because knowledge in and of itself isn’t power - we have to do something with it. We have to practice it, embody it.  Otherwise, learning without implementation is merely entertainment.

Otherwise, learning without implementation is merely entertainment

My clients often seek me out because they’re struggling repeating painful cycles in well-being, work, or relationships and they want their time and peace back. But wanting things to change isn’t enough.

It all comes down to a matter of willingness. The willingness to do the deeper work required to overcome the comfortable (albeit painful) patterns.

You see, most stick with the surface level strategies when it comes to personal development– even the coaches/guides do – because well, it’s a quick-fix, a band aid approach, that covers the issues temporarily.

Imagine treating a dislocated shoulder with a band aid and an Advil. Over time, the pain will return, and the shoulder will need to be reset into proper place if you actually want to be pain-free and heal properly.

Which is why we have to be willing.  This willingness - this courage - is the missing ingredient for transformation.  The key piece that, when partnered with vision, structure, and self-awareness, can generate some long-term results when it comes to work-life balance, and well-being.

Self-Awareness Check - questions to consider:

  • What have you been avoiding?

  • Where do you need to practice more willingness?

  • What is one small step that you can take to demonstrate this willingness?
